Mario Strikers: Battle League – Overview Trailer

Mario Strikers: Battle League will be coming to the Nintendo Switch next month! Nintendo released an overview trailer for the game today. Please take a look at the video and then come back here for some thoughts on the game!

Mario Strikers: Battle League will be coming to the Nintendo Switch on June 10th.

For those unfamiliar with Mario Strikers, its basically Mario Soccer (or as our European/UK friends say Football). Battle League makes it even more arcade-like than usual with armor that characters can wear and special moves. You can upgrade the characters to make them even better players. Best of all, the game has local and online multiplayer!

The local multiplayer includes using one joycon for all players. I’m not sure how that works but it sounds neat. The online mode looks even better though! You can actually create your own clubs and special field to play in! Not only that but your field will actually fuse with someone elses online (when you battle) to create a unique new field. Pretty neat!

I have to admit that I’m not usually a fan of Soccer but this game looks really fun! I love all the arcade aspects. Being able to tackle opponents and push your teammates looks fun. The graphics look fantastic. Look at those special effects! Luigi’s tornado effect was so cool.
