Dragon Fantasy: The Black Tome of Ice Is Coming to the Wii U & 3DS Next Week

Dragon Fantasy: The Black Tome of Ice received a release date today for the North American Wii U and 3DS. The rpg is the second in the Dragon Fantasy series. I’ll give you my thoughts on the first game and the new one below. Also included are a press release and trailer for the game!

Dragon Fantasy: The Black Tome of Ice (Book 2) will be coming to the North American Wii U and 3DS on May 26th. It will cost $9.99 on both systems. The Black Tome of Ice is the sequel to Dragon Fantasy: The Volumes of Westeria!

I played The Volumes of Westeria for Wii U and liked the game, for the most part. Volumes of Westeria was a very traditional rpg with turn-based battles and retro graphics. Though, I was unhappy with how the game ended because, well, it didn’t really end. The game just stopped at a certain point and there felt like there should’ve been more to it. Even so, I’m pretty interested in this second game!

Based on the trailer, the second Dragon Fantasy game has better graphics then the first one, plus a battle system that reminds me of Chrono Trigger and there will be no random battles! I hope the game have a better story too. According to the press release for the game, players will easily be able to get into The Black Tome of Ice even if they haven’t played the first Dragon Fantasy. Here’s hoping The Black Tome of Ice is an excellent addition to the Wii U and 3DS library of rpgs!
