Animal Crossing New Horizons: May Day Impressions

If you haven’t checked out the May Day event in Animal Crossing New Horizons yet, do not read this article. I’m warning you! This article will go into what the May Day event is and what I thought of it.

When I started Animal Crossing New Horizons today, Isabelle told me about May Day and that I should come to resident services to talk to Tom Nook about it.

As soon as I could, I went there and talked to Nook. He told me what May Day is and why he put together a special island tour for the day. He said there would be a May Day Ticket waiting for me at the airport and I had till May 7th to use it.

I wasn’t going to wait for May 7th though! I wanted to see what the May Day island tour was all about.

When I got to the airport, I was told that I couldn’t take any of my tools or items with me on the tour. Hmmm. Interesting! What is this all about?

I got to the island and Wilbur told me all about the event. It was a maze and I would be going in without tools and would have to figure out how to get through it on my own…

Right away, I found a tool. I won’t give you a blow by blow of the maze but I will tell you that you’ll be using a lot of the things you’ve learned in the normal game so far. Like what? Well you’ll be using fruit power to dig up trees and break rocks, you’ll be jumping over holes, and yes there is some crafting too.

Along the way, you may see some bell vouchers and you’ll be able to get them if you save some fruit to break rocks. And at the end of the maze is Rover! He’s a old friend from previous Animal Crossing games.

Rover will give you a reward for completing the maze. He also tells you that you can use the Rescue Services app on your cellphone if you need to do the maze over.

I didn’t have to do the maze over. I managed to get all the bell vouchers and Rover’s reward. It was great to see that cat again!

Overall, I had a lot of fun with the May Day tour. It was great to see the island tickets used for something unique. I hope we’ll see more of that in the future. It would be great to see Rover again too.

I do wish, however, that we could go on more than one May Day tour. It would’ve been nice to get a ticket every day for seven days or just get multiple tickets in one day. It would have been cool to see more mazes and some unique Rover items.

Ah well. We can only hope that Nintendo will use the islands again in the future for some cool events.

What did you think of the May Day tour? Do you want to see more unique island tours?
