Xseed Corpse Party Launches on PC

cp6

If you want to talk about interesting titles, look no further than the latest release from XSeed, Corpse Party. “Corpse Party, is now available worldwide for Windows PC on Steam, GOG, and the Humble Store by Humble Bundle with exclusive content and features. Originally developed as an independent title by Team GrisGris, and previously released for the PSP, Corpse Party is a chilling visual novel-style experience that takes players on a terrifying journey where each step could be their last.”

From XSeed,

In Corpse Party, players take control of a group of Japanese high school students who inadvertently engage in a pagan ritual and find themselves inexplicably transported into a whole other space: an inescapable echo of a long-since demolished school building where a series of gruesome murders once took place. They must now evade the grasp of the tortured souls who roam the halls of the doomed Heavenly Host Elementary, lest they join the ranks of the dead themselves.

Corpse Party will test your ability to make the correct decisions, as there are over 20 ways to unsuccessfully end your nighttime party. The game is presented in crisp 2D sprites, and 16 bit; all of the background and environments are hand drawn in an anime style, and for someone who isn’t a huge anime fan, it looks pretty great! I wonder if there is a huge appeal and demand for this type of game, but as it has already released on the PSP a while back, I assume sales justified porting this over to PC. I would’t be surprised if we see Corpse Party released again in the future on the Playstation 4. Until then, grab it on PC via Steam, GOG, or Humble and give it a try!

One of our wonderful reviewers Dakota will be looking at Corpse Party over the next few weeks, and will be publishing her review. Stay tune to Games Reviews for that!
