Pokemon Detective Pikachu Cards Available Now

The Pokemon Detective Pikachu movie is set to hit theaters in just a few weeks, and to celebrate the launch of the movie, The Pokemon Company International has released a special set of Pokemon cards. While the set only includes 18 cards + promos – for a total of around 25 cards – the cards within the set will not only be useful for your 60 card decks, but will also be a nice collectors item for those who enjoy the entire franchise.

The cards come in 4 packs, and are not available outside of special Detective Pikachu, Pokemon Trading Card Game special packages. The packages currently available in include:

• Pokémon TCG: Detective Pikachu Case File—Contains one promo card featuring Detective Pikachu, one metallic coin inspired by Detective Pikachu, two Detective Pikachu booster packs, and one additional Pokémon TCG booster pack.

• Pokémon TCG: Detective Pikachu Charizard-GX Case File—Contains one foil promo card and one foil oversize card featuring Charizard-GX, four Detective Pikachu booster packs, and two additional Pokémon TCG booster packs.

• Pokémon TCG: Detective Pikachu Greninja-GX Case File—Contains one foil promo card and one foil oversize card featuring Greninja-GX, one pin featuring Greninja, five Detective Pikachu booster packs, and two additional Pokémon TCG booster packs.

• Pokémon TCG: Detective Pikachu Mewtwo-GX Case File—Contains one foil promo card and one foil oversize card featuring Mewtwo-GX, four Detective Pikachu booster packs, and two additional Pokémon TCG booster packs.

• Pokémon TCG: Detective Pikachu Collector Chest—Contains seven Detective Pikachu booster packs, two additional Pokémon TCG booster packs, one collector’s pin inspired by Detective Pikachu, and one Pokémon notepad and sticker sheet, all in a sturdy metal case.

Thanks to The Pokemon Company International, we were able to unbox one of each product except the Pikachu Collectors Chest, and from all those packages of cards, we came out missing only one card, Machamp! But basically, if you purchase all these special packs, you are bound to get all the cards in the collection. I also would assume many of the duplicates will make their way onto social media sale sites for you to complete the collection.

The card are beautifully detailed, and despite there only being 18 to collect, there are still common cards, uncommon cards, rare cards, and of course, ultra rare cards as well. Collecting them has been a blast, even if a short endevour. If you are excited for the upcoming movie, this is a great way to have even more fun with Detective Pikachu!
