New World Furnishing Leveling Guide
If you want to craft furniture to decorate your home, you’ll need to level up your Furnishing skill in New World.
A fun and rewarding profession – that’s what Furnishing in New World is all about. This Crafting Trade skill lets you make trophies (which are very important to the game) and decorations to jazz up your home! Tables, chairs, trophies, drawers, chests – you name it. Trophies, in particular, are a common New World item in everyone’s houses since they give players a global buff (limited to five per house). Also, chests are another piece of furniture you can typically find in houses since they can increase your storage shed size in the settlement (the limit varies in house size). We’ve got you covered if you’re looking to learn more about the Furnishing skill to farm New World gold and New World coins.
General Overview of Furnishing in New World
Furnishing is one of the seven Crafting Trade skills you can level up in the New World. For those who don’t know what Trade skills are, they’re essentially non-combat skills that you can invest experience points in and master. There are three categories of Trade skills in New World: Gathering, Refining, and Crafting. All of these skills are mainly used for farming New World gold. Furnishing belongs to the Crafting category, but you will still need to dabble in the Gathering and Refining skills to collect the resources you’ll use to create New World items.
To perform Furnishing, go to any Workshop in your settlements; each has its tier level. The higher the tier of the Workshop you’ll use, the more New World items you can craft with it. This particular mechanic is crucial for Furnishing as all items have their tier level pre-requisite. You have to be at a Workshop that meets the tier level requirement of the item if you want to craft it.
To raise the tier level of your Workshops, you can complete Town Projects. However, if you don’t want to do that, you can also just opt to find another viable settlement that has a Workshop that meets the required tier level that you’re looking for.
Skills That Go Well With Furnishing
All of the skills we have listed below are important for Furnishing, as the resources you need to craft the New World items can only be obtained by using these skills:
- Weaving
- Smelting
- Woodworking
- Cooking
- Harvesting
- Logging
- Mining
- Harvesting
- Leatherworking
If you’d instead invest in other skills that don’t prioritize gathering resources, you can try trading for the items you need with other players on your server.
Level 1-50: Baby Steps
Since you’re just a beginner at Furnishing at this point, it’s logical to choose a product that’s cheap and easy to find. By rushing that product, you can increase your level quickly. The first thing you’ll need is Solvent. You can easily find this in supply crates scattered all over low-level areas. Since tons of chests spawn every half an hour, you can loot Solvent without any trouble. Farming Solvent can be time-consuming, so we recommend buying it on your server if you can find it cheap.
Next up, you’ll need Reeds which can be obtained by gathering bulrush near the wetland areas of the map. The great thing about Reeds is that you can also obtain Bait and Cobs while you’re in the process of gathering the said resource. Keep this in mind because you can sell or save these extra Cobs for levelling your Arcana on the side. The best place to farm Reeds in mass quantity is Weaver’s Fen. But if your level is too low, they can be found around the lakes in all starting zones.
Next on your list should be Fibers which should be easy enough to get. We recommend going to Windsword (the Sunshade Plains in the Restless Shore) and Tres Campos farm on the border of Monarch’s bluffs.
Finally, once you have all the items, you can start making Wicker Baskets. These don’t necessarily give many experience points, but they cost almost nothing to make, making them perfect to craft in bulk.
As for alternatives, you can craft Warm Iron Sconce – Bright to increase your Furnishing level quickly. You will need 235 Oil, 940 Iron Ore, and 2820 Green Wood. If you craft 47 of them, you’ll have reached level 25.
Level 50-100: Intermediate
You can start crafting Ash Armoires once you’ve reached level 50; you’ll need many resources to do this. To farm the resources efficiently, it’s recommended that you improve your Logging and Mining professions. To make Ash Armoires, you will need:
- 768 Aged Wood
- 154 Weak Solvent
- 23040 Green Wood
- 11520 Iron Ore
You should be level 75 after crafting 192 Ash Armoires. To reach level 100, you need to craft Maple Stains – 1238 of it. If your Mining profession is at a high level, you can gather and track Oil. Note that if you don’t have any Oil in your inventory, you can’t craft Maple Stains. To make Maple Stains, you will need:
- 4952 Oil
- 12381 Weak Solvent
Level 100-200: Advanced
To reach level 125, you must craft 1142 Oak Stains. Luckily, it contains the same resources as the items you’ve crafted before – Weak Solvent and Oil. Once you’ve reached level 125, it’s time for you to Robust Wind Chimes, an item that requires more resources. To craft Robust Wind Chimes, you must have reached level 100 in your Logging since you’ll need to cut a tree called Wyrdwood, which you can’t cut down if you have a low level. You will need the following to craft Robust Wind Chimes:
- 620 Sand Flux
- 21420 Wyrdwood
- 53240 Green Wood
- 35700 Aged Wood
- 620 Fibers
- 7440 Iron Ore
- 10710 Course Sandpaper
Once you’re level 150, it’s time to craft 609 Mahogany Stains; this will get you to level 175. You’ll need the following:
- 2438 Oil
- 6096 Pure Solvent
To finally reach level 200, you must craft 794 Over Cerulean Rugs. For this, you’ll need:
- 59550 Crossweave
- 119100 Silk Thread
- 11910 Wirefiber
- 635200 Fiber
- 59550 Tannin
- 119100 Thick Hide
- 635200 Rawhide
