More Thoughts From Me #217: My 2020 Gaming So Far

In a previous column, I talked about how I believe we are in for a lot of delays this year. But now its time to focus on the positive! What have I been playing this year so far? What do I wish I was playing? And what do I hope comes out in 2020? Let’s get to it!

As you all know, thanks to my review-in progress and other articles, I have been playing a ton of Animal Crossing New Horizons.

I feel so happy and lucky that New Horizons made it out this year. This game has kept me from going insane. When I have nothing else to do, its very likely that I’ll be going back into New Horizons to check out whats going on there. I love my island and my animals. Also its great that I can play with my dad and my friends online.

However, New Horizons isn’t the only game I’ve been playing. I reviewed Curious Expedition and liked it.

I will have a review of Shinsekai Into the Depths on GamesReviews.com sometime today. I can’t wait for you all to read that one.

And then there’s Final Fantasy 7 Remake. This is the game I had to buy and its the only non-review/Animal Crossing game that I’m making time for right now.

There are some games that I wish I was playing right now that I’m not though. Before New Horizons came out, I was playing Breath of the Wild on the Switch for the first time. I should get back to that but New Horizons has my full attention on Switch. I also should get back to Astral Chain, Three Houses, and Ni No Kuni, but its the same problem as Breath of the Wild…

I have no other game I want to play on the PS4 other than FF7 Remake!

So yes, there are some games I’m neglecting. This doesn’t mean that I don’t want to see more games come to the PS4 and Switch this year. I’m skeptical that we’ll get a lot of new ones but here’s what I’m hoping for…

I am hoping so much that Burnout Paradise releases on the Switch this year. Though I’m pretty sure that I’ll be waiting for a sale to pick the game up. I’m also hoping to get the first Bioshock. Hopefully at the $19.99 price point. I think thats a fair price…

I also really want to get The Outer Worlds for Nintendo Switch. It looks awesome.

What about brand new non-remake games though? Any hope for those?

I think a Mario Golf wouldn’t be out of the question. And a Paper Mario!

I’m not sure what to hope for on the Playstation 4. I’d love to be surprised though.

If nothing else, we got Animal Crossing New Horizons and Final Fantasy 7 Remake this year. I’d say its been a pretty good year gaming wise. Now if the rest of the world could just get its act together…
