More Thoughts From Me #117: Tiny LittleBigPlanet
My dad got a PSP a while back. He has been playing a lot of games on it. And when I found out there was a LittleBigPlanet for the PSP, he told me to get it (I’m a big fan of the series). So I got it and I have been borrowing his system to play it. How is LittleBigPlanet PSP? Has it been fun playing this series again?
LittleBigPlanet for the PSP is a neat game. I won’t say that the game is perfect, because it isn’t, but lets talk about whats good about this game first!
The portable experiance here reminds me a lot of the very first LittleBigPlanet. Sackboy plays just like he did on the PS3. The game’s graphics are actually alot like that first game too. There seems to be a ton of content in the game; single player levels to play along with things to find for the creation mode.
Speaking of which, there is a full blown creation mode in LittleBigPlanet PSP. It reminds me of the first game’s creation mode. It even controls like that game. Overall, I’m having fun playing through the single player levels and toying around with the creation.
Unfortunately, the online sharing for LittleBigPlanet PSP is no longer available. I assume you can’t download other peoples levels either. My dad’s PSP doesn’t have online anyway (we couldn’t get the system hooked up to our Wifi) so it doesn’t matter. Still thats a major blow to this game.
Also it should be noted that there is a lot of load times in this PSP version. The game has a heck of a long load time when you first start it up. There are awkward pauses when tutorial videos pop up and when selecting items in creation mode. These load times don’t ruin the PSP version but it does mean that the game is not quite as good as the first LittleBigPlanet.
Don’t get me wrong: I’m having fun playing LittleBigPlanet again. I think its awesome having the game in the palm of my hand. I do wish the online was still available. I wish there wasn’t as much load times too. However the gameplay is fun and its great tooling around with creation.
LittleBigPlanet PSP isn’t perfect but I’m having fun playing this series again. Also, I wish I had a Playstation Vita. I’d love to see how LittleBigPlanet Vita is!
Have you played LittleBigPlanet for the PSP? What do you think of it?
Next week: I’ll tell you what I think of stuff I’ve never played/watched. Why? Because this is the internet! I’ll tell you what I think of: God of War, Nintendo Labo, the upcoming Spider-man game, the Tomb Raider movie, and possibly more. Quick opinions, no explanations! See ya then.
More Thoughts From Me is an opinion column. The thoughts expressed here are mine and mine alone. Ah, if only LittleBigPlanet was on Nintendo Switch. lol.
