Guard Duty
Guard Duty is an adventure “point and click” game for the Nintendo Switch. It harkens back to old school adventure games like King’s Quest. But is Guard Duty a game just for old school adventure game fans or will new players enjoy it too? Here is our review of Guard Duty for the Nintendo Switch.
If you liked the orignal King’s Quest PC game, then you’ll love Guard Duty for the Nintendo Switch.
Guard Duty stars a guard who is down on his luck and ends up deciding to rescue a princess. The game features a lot of humor. Nobody takes the guard too seriously. Can he complete his quest?
The player directs the guard via an old fashioned “point and click” interface. The analog/button controls for this work well. It takes a moment to adjust to them though.
Meanwhile, the touch screen controls are pretty good but do not cover all the game’s controls. Looking at items has to be handled via a button.
Guard Duty is a very old school game. If you love the old adventure games, then you will love Guard Duty. If you’re not a fan, this game is unlikely to make you one.
Personally, I enjoyed this game. Though I’ve always been a sucker for any game that was like King’s Quest!
Guard Duty gets a 7.5 out of 10.
