I checked out Atomfall on Xbox Game Pass yesterday. This is a game I’ve been looking forward to. How is the game so far? Here are my first impressions.

Atomfall right away gives off major Fallout vibes. You start off underground! The Fallout vibes continue as you leave the underground section too. Talking to people and interacting with things feels a lot like Fallout.

However, the game also has its own vibe too. There is a big mysterious mystery going on in this game. Not only that, there’s so much exploration and you’ll find yourself using your flashlight a lot. There are some pretty dark places and the flashlight is super handy.

There is also a crafting mechanic built into the menu system. I’ve only toyed with that a little so far by making first aid. I’m sure I’ll end up using it even more as the game progresses.

My favorite thing I’ve discovered though is the Metal Detector. I bought it from a trader recently and it’s a blast. You don’t have to have the metal detector out for it to work. When a buried treasure is near, you’ll hear a sound and the game will tell you take out the detector. Finding an object and digging it up is pretty cool.

The game is not without its issues though. I’ve already run into one time where the game’s sound went out and I had to restart completely to get the sound to come back. I also had a time where an enemy came out a ladder after me, disappeared and then came up the ladder again. Another enemy got stuck on a cliff too. So the game definitely has some launch bugs.

None of this takes away from how much I’m enjoying the game. I love exploring in Atomfall, checking out buildings, forests, underground bunkers and more. This game is a blast so far.

I do hope the bugs are ironed out but overall, I’m enjoying Atomfall and can’t wait to play more of it!

Have you tried Atomfall? What do you think of it so far?
