When a AAA Game Isn’t What You Want
Not everyone wants to play a big AAA game at all times of the day, and the gaming industry has done a great job of providing games that take way less time, are incredibly portable, and the like. It’s why so many gamers have purchased PlayStation Vita’s, Nintendo 3DS units, and of course, the Nintendo Switch. And with almost everyone owning a mobile phone at this point, gaming is always at your fingertips, in the best possible way.
Some people are only interested in gaming on their phones, and never tap into big games. For many, simply finding a selection of casino games is what they are looking for. But people are looking for more, and want to play high quality games, but only for a few minutes at a time. Here, I will run down a few of the mobile games I enjoy, that only take a few minutes of your day every few hours!
If you are a Disney fan, playing Disney Magic Kingdoms is a must. This is an incredibly deep game with lots of great content, and most importantly, it can be played offline. Here is what GamesReviews said about the game,
The first thing you need to know about Disney Magic Kingdoms is that it is free to play, and does – should the player so desire – include the option for paid content, primarily through buying premium currency, but also from time-to-time to purchase character and building packs. While spending money from time-to-time is worth it for me, it might not be for you, and ultimately, that’s OK. Disney Magic Kingdoms is the perfect free-to-play game in my opinion. I went in assuming I wouldn’t spend a dime, but a year late and 30 levels higher, I’ve dropped a few dollars on the game to get some of my favorite characters, and not regret it at all.
If you enjoy city-building titles, this will definitely be a game you want to play. Have you tried it?
With the success of Super Mario Run, the launch of an Animal Crossing title on mobile was inevitable, and good on Nintendo for getting this title to the market. Here is what our reviewer said about the game when it came out,
Everything you would expect from a free-to-play title is doable in Animal Crossing Pocket Camp. You will be able to travel around a small – although perhaps expandable? – map and collect various resources. In this situation, of course, these are all tied to the animal crossing universe, so you will spend time collecting bugs, fish, fruit, and much more. These items can be traded in for bells, used in crafting recipes to get new items for your camp, or can be used to finish quests provided by your animal friends.
Anything on Nintendo Switch
Most Nintendo Switch games can be played in spurts, and if you use the sleep button on the console itself, you can pause at any time! In the middle of a Pokken battle against the AI? You can pause that. In the middle of Smash Bros with a bunch of bots? You can pause that too. The Nintendo Switch has redefined gaming on the go; while similar to closing the lid on the Nintendo 3DS, better graphics and more impressive games makes the Nintendo Switch just a step above.
That being said, anything on Nintendo 3DS would be fantastic as well. Gaming on the go is the future of the gaming industry; while there are some really impressive AAA titles that get launched – Red Dead Redemption 2, Spiderman, and God of War to name a few – I’m finding myself moving towards Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo Switch, and mobile more and more often. I want that gaming experience, one that is easily put down, and even easier to pick up. One that I can enjoy for 5 minutes, 20 minutes, or a few hours. Only the Nintendo Switch, Nintendo 3DS, and mobile give me that opportunity.
