What to expect from Halo Infinite?
Halo Infinite will become the sixth Halo game in the main series and this time you can expect the game to focus entirely on the Master Chief. Halo 5: Guardians spilt players’ time between Master Chief and another Spartan – Spartan Locke. With reports that, upon seeing the MasterChief again at an E3 conference last summer, some Halo players broke down in tears of happiness, it is fair to say that there is lots of hype surrounding the release.

Halo Infinite will follow the events directly after Halo 5, which was the last time gamers saw the pairing of the Master Chief and Cortana. Halo 5 was released back in October 2015 and ended with Cortana, overcome with power, awakening the winger war machines known as Guardians to wreck all havoc on the universe.
Although there are still lots of rumors abound as to what type of game Halo Infinite will be exactly, there is a strong chance that Halo Infinite will be an open world version of Halo. The games developers have already stated that they hope Halo Infinite will serve as a “spiritual reboot” for the series – so do not expect this to be the last Halo game to be produced.
When can I play Halo Infinite?
Halo Infinite will be released alongside the Xbox Series X from “Holiday 2020” so expect the release date to be late November/December. However, the developers behind Halo Infinite have stated that the game is being made and released for the Xbox One. Those who buy the Xbox Series X in order to play Halo Infinite will be able to enjoy improved graphics as well as some other features that are yet to be announced.
If you recall, the original Xbox console was released alongside the first ever Halo video game; Halo: Combat Evolved. It seems 343 industries, the developers behind the franchise are hoping to rekindle the huge success which the first Halo game inspired.
Halo Infinite Multiplayer
Halo: Infinite will have an online mode where players are able to play against other people all over the world. Halo Infinite will also bring back split screen play which was controversially omitted from Halo: Guardians.
The specifics of the multiplayer mode remain sparse. Although the developers have confirmed that Halo Infinite will not feature a Battle Royale mode.
Halo Inspiration
To date the Halo franchise consists of video games, (which have grossed over $3 billion alone) novels, action figures, board games and even some UK casino slot games have been based on the franchise. There has also been a Halo web series which was released in 2012. It was the hope that a Halo film would follow this series, however, a film never transpired.
The success of the Halo video game franchise led to the phrase “Halo killer” being coined to describe a video game that is considered to be better than Halo. The game is also considered to be one of the main reasons why console players choose to purchase an Xbox over a PlayStation given that Halo is a Microsoft production and has never been released as a title for any PlayStation console. Without Halo: Combat Evolved, it could be argued that no other Xbox console would have been forthcoming following the original Xbox.
