Ewin Knight Series Review

EwinRacing has been making gaming chairs for a long time now, and we’ve had the privilege to review many of those chairs. At this point, half of the GamesReviews staff is currently sitting in a EwinRacing Gaming Chair as we speak, and none of them have reverted back to old chairs, or purchased new. Ewin makes a quality chair at an affordable price, and while some of the bells and whistles you find in other chairs might not be present here, you also aren’t shelling out nearly as much money. Let’s take a look at the EwinRacing Knight class of chair, and why it’s one of the best gaming chairs on the market.

Shipping

The chair arrived within one week of the order being placed by Ewin for us. We were tacked with the shipping cost, as free shipping is only offered to residents of the United States and Europe. Still, the $50 fee didn’t seem completely unreasonable for a chair that’s north of 50 lbs, shipped. One thing we’ve learned is that Canadian Border and Customs agents are not the most careful when packages when doing inspections at the border, so the box was a bit worse for wear when it finally arrived at our Canadian HQ. The box had a few holes in it from transportation, and one piece of plastic for the chair was cracked in the process. This was, however, not any fault of the manufacturer, or their shipping process and packing. Based on the hole in the side of the box, something large and somewhat sharp was dropped onto this box.

Assembly

If there is one downside to an Ewin Racing chair it’s the instruction guides included in the box. Ewin has chosen to go with generic instructions for all their chairs, and while they all basically follow the same assembly path, there are slight differences that can throw off someone. Fortunately, with a little bit of thinking, the chair was assembled fairly quickly, all by one one person. One step had me assembling two covers, then putting them onto the chair, but the chair already had one of the covers on so trying to take inventory (to ensure all pieces were there) at the beginning was confusing. Again, a quick look at the chair, and we noticed everything was accounted for.

The packaging comes with all the required tools to put the chair together, as well as extra parts. There is no need to pick anything up from the store – if you need it for chair assembly, it is in the box. All the pieces were individually wrapped and protected within the box. It was neat inside, as expected from a premium chair product. Putting this chair together with help is advised, both by us and Ewin themselves. That being said, it can be done alone, but you might run into a few frustrating moments along the way. All alone, our reviewer was able to put the chair together within 20 minutes, which seems incredibly reasonable.

The Chair

One of the key features of Ewin Racing chairs is the ergonomic design which forces those using the chair to use proper posture, as opposed to slouching or sinking into a typical office chair. Our writer Will mentioned this back in 2018 when he did his Ewin chair review, giving the chair full credit for helping improve some of his back issues he was currently having because of his current chair. Our current reviewer echoed some of the same sentiments.

While not as cushy as standard office chair, the Ewin chair pushes comfort on you in different ways. Adjustable pillows on the chair will allow you to find the perfect posture that suits you, and the firm base will hold up a considerable amount of weight. The sturdy metal constructed base is something Ewin refused to skimp on, and it shows. There is no plastic in the base – it’s solid throughout, able to withhold a few hundred pounds with no worries. When using the lift to move the chair up and down, the motion is smooth and effortless, and other key feature that we really enjoyed.

Even though we didn’t review the larger sized chair this time around, our reviewer – who is a bit heftier in size – commented on how well the chair still fit his frame. No issues, no concerns, just pure comfort. And it comes with a premium look as well, one that many admired when seeing the chair on various streams and zoom calls. It’s an elegant chair, and at a fantastic price!

Conclusion

EwinRacing has found a way to create an incredibly comfortable chair at a surprising price. While there are more expensive chairs on the market, in some situations you might be paying more for the label than you are the actual product. We will return to this review in a few months, but our early impressions are very positive.
