Dying Light 2 with a big opening Day
The PC version of Techland’s open-world zombie title, which is also available via the Epic Games Store, was released on February 3 at 4pm PT / 7pm ET
It has reached a peak of 164,591 during its first 11 hours of availability.
Only 50 other titles have ever attracted more concurrent players on Valve’s online game platform, according to data published on SteamDB.
The data compares very favorably with that of the game’s predecessor, 2015’s Dying Light, which reached a peak concurrent player count of almost 46,000.
It also tops the peak concurrent player counts of two other big Steam releases this year. Monster Hunter Rise’s peak player count stands at 134,262, while God of War’s totals 73,529.
Dying Light 2, which suffered several years of delays since its first reveal at E3 2018, is also available now for PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
