Dexter Stardust: Adventures in Outer Space is sci-fi adventure indie game about two adventurers who find themselves in various wacky situations as they travel to different planets. It has a TV show-like format to it and an old school point and click vibe. But is Dexter Stardust any good? Here is our review of Dexter Stardust: Adventures in Outer Space for the Nintendo Switch!

Dexter Stardust: Adventures in Outer Space is a point and click adventure game that harkens back to games like Space Quest. The format of the game is a bit different though: Dexter Stardust is set up in “episodes”, like a TV show and it even has its own opening theme song and credit sequence! The continuing story is interesting, and you’ll want to find out where the story will go next.

The gameplay, meanwhile, is the classic adventure gameplay formula of finding items, combining items, giving items away, finding new items, and rinse and repeat. It doesn’t feel too repetitive though because of the interesting story.

Control wise, Dexter Stardust does have touch screen controls in portable mode, but you should just stick to using the analog stick and buttons because they work the best.

Also, this is not an easy game, mostly because it is not always obvious what you need to do next. Most of time, you just really must look around. And the game does occasionally have a glitch, such as collecting an item you already got.

There are tons of items to collect and lots of dialogue choices too! The dialogue is in this game is a blast. There are some very funny lines. The game is fully voice acted and the acting is good! The game has fantastic graphics too. It looks like a high-quality animated television show.

Dexter Stardust is a really fun game.

If you like old point and click adventure games like Space Quest, you will love Dexter Stardust: Adventures in Outer Space. Yes, it does have some rough edges but overall, it is a great game.
