Super Smash Bros. Ultimate – Mr. Sakurai Presents “Byleth” (Video)

Mr. Sakurai revealed the newest Super Smash Bros Ultimate DLC character today in a video! The character turned out to be Byleth, the main character from Fire Emblem Three Houses. Check out the reveal below and then please come back for my thoughts on the reveal.

I didn’t watch the reveal this morning. I have to admit that I just wasn’t excited for another Smash Bros Ultimate DLC character. Don’t get me wrong, I love Smash Bros but I really wanted either a full Nintendo Direct or an Animal Crossing Nintendo Direct.

So I was just on twitter and heard who the revealed charater was. I have played Three Houses but I renamed the main character so I didn’t remember that his/her name is Byleth. So my reaction was “Who?” until I looked up the character!

Actually Byleth is a cool character in Three Houses. And now that I’ve seen Byleth in action, he/she looks like a great addition to Smash Bros. The new Three Houses stage looks cool too.

Also revealed in this morning’s Smash video was some new Mii DLC costumes. My favorite is Cuphead! The Mii costume of Cuphead looks like they are just adding Cuphead to Smash. Whoa!

Byleth will be available on January 28th via the Nintendo Switch eshop. The character will be part of the Fighter Pass but you can also pick it up for $5.99 by itself. The Mii costumes will be 75 cents each.

Today’s Smash Bros video was pretty good. That said, we are all wondering when we’ll see a full Nintendo Direct. When do you think we will? Also what did you think of today’s Smash Bros reveal(s)?
