Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove Announced for Nintendo Switch (and more!)
Yacht Club Games announced today that Shovel Knight will be making it way to Nintendo Switch! They will also be updating the game in various ways across multiple platforms.
Shovel Knight started out as a Nintendo Wii U and 3DS exclusive game. It has since moved on to other consoles and will be adding yet another one soon: the Nintendo Switch!
Yacht Club Games will be renaming Shovel Knight as Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove. They say that players will be able to download “each campaign as separate, standalone games on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC/Mac/Linux, and Nintendo Switch” or buy the full game!

Shovel Knight: Shovel of Hope – Shovel of Hope is our new name for the original Shovel Knight game, since it needed a title like the others. What do you think!? Rewatch the adventure here.
Shovel Knight: Plague of Shadows – Plague Knight’s Campaign emerges from the Shadows to hopefully get some recognition this time! Watch it all here.
Shovel Knight: Specter of Torment – Specter of Torment is our most expansive campaign yet. We’re so excited for you to become the reaper! See Specter Knight in action here. ”
Shovel Knight will also see a free update that adds a 2-player mode to all console versions, no amiibo needed. Additionally body swap mode will be added when Specter of Torment is released!
And that’s not all! These two new additions will be added later this year:

Shovel Knight: King Knight’s Campaign – A crazy campaign with the gilded goob himself!
Shovel Knight: Battle Mode – Duel with up to 4 players as your favorite heroic or villainous knight! (3DS/Vita not included) ”
Finally, Yacht Club has announced that the price of Shovel Knight will be going up this Spring. So you definitely should be this title NOW. Though, the stand alone campaigns will be available at a cheaper price later too. In my opinion, Shovel Knight is well worth buying now. I own the game on Wii U and think its fantastic! I can’t wait to play these updates!!
