More Thoughts From Me: Creating A Cult (of the Lamb)
2022 brought us so many amazing games. And one of the games that I kept hearing people talk about was Cult of the Lamb. I didn’t think it would be for me at first but finally decided to check it out! Here are my thoughts on Cult of the Lamb.
After Christmas and before the New Year, I played another. I wish I could’ve had this game on my top ten games of 2022 list.
The game is Cult of the Lamb!
What makes this game so good?
Cult of the Lamb is part cute and part disturbing. In the game, you play a lamb who is brought back from the dead to…start a cult. Its not a happy fuzzy cult. You get followers, re-educate them, and you can even imprison or kill them if they get out of line. Sounds pretty disturbing yes?
But also all your followers are animals, you craft stuff to build your cults home, go out and collect material, gain more followers, and there’s even a cool mini-game distraction.
Cult of the Lamb is a simulation game, but also there’s fighting like a 2D Zelda game. The days move quickly like a Harvest Moon game. Yes, there’s even growing crops and cooking food. You can preform dark rituals too.
You absolutely have to be okay with the idea of a pretend cult. This game requires a separation from reality and perhaps a dark sense of humor too.
Am I disturbed by the game sometimes? Yes, the game is sometimes disturbing. Most of all though, the game is super addictive: growing your followers, going to new areas, building up your cults home, and playing Knucklebones.
Oh yes, Knucklebones is the mini-game I mentioned earlier. In this dice based mini-game, you have to get the highest score by filling your area with dice and getting rid of the other players dice. Its hard to explain but once you play it, it’ll click and you’ll get just as addicted to Knucklebones as you are to the rest of the game.
Cult of the Lamb has a lot of content. There is so much to do in the game. And the developer has already hinted at a big free update for 2023 for the game. FREE. UPDATE. More content!
If you haven’t played Cult of the Lamb and you like cute, sometimes disturbing simulation/adventure games then check out this game already. I’m so addicted to it. Oh and by the way, I called my cult…the Cult of Tom Nook. Yes. I just had to!
More Thoughts From Me is an opinion column. The thoughts expressed here are mine and mine alone. Can’t wait to see what 2023 brings for Cult of the Lamb.
