Games to look forward to in 2016
2016 is going to be a great year for gaming, with a whole host of titles we’ve been waiting for for years. Whether it’s The Last Guardian or Uncharted 4, you just know your wallet is going to be empty all year around.
Action Games
Uncharted 4 is leading the leaderboard for exciting games in 2016. This is a pure genre experience, filled to the brim with witty one-liners, exciting set-pieces and gorgeous graphics. If there’s a reason to buy a PlayStation 4, this is it.
Nobody ever really expected to be playing The Last Guardian, but its announcement at E3 last year has sparked interest in the title all over again. Although there’s still no specific details – meaning it’d be far too easy for it to keep slipping back – it definitely feels closer than ever.
Talking of long awaited games, Ni-Oh was announced back in 2004. Now the PlayStation 4 exclusive is finally making its way to release, telling the story of the world’s first Western samurai. It’s bound to be worth a look, especially to fans of the Ninja Gaiden franchise.
Role Playing Games
World of Final Fantasy will give players the chance to explore cute versions of their favourite locations in this world-linking spin-off from Square Enix. The role playing game is just one of the big titles fans will be able to look forward to over the coming year. In fact, this is going to be a great year for Final Fantasy, with news that Final Fantasy IX will be making its way to PC and mobile devices, Final Fantasy X is guaranteed to release this year and we might just get a deeper look at Final Fantasy VII Remake.
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is promising another futuristic stealth shooter for gamers to get their teeth into. Like its predecessor, this latest title puts you into the shoes of Adam Jensen, who you can upgrade with new skills as you play. Whether it’s seeing through walls or increasing your strength, you can augment your character to match your playing style.
Finally, could 2016 finally be the year that we get stuck into Kingdom Hearts 3? So far there hasn’t been a solid release date, but that doesn’t mean we couldn’t be playing it by the winter months. If not, Kingdom Hearts 2.8 brings Dream Drop Distance to current gen devices – that’ll be enough to keep us busy.
Games for Adults
If you want something a little riskier, you’ll be able to play a whole host of new gambling games this year.
You’ll be able to check out Slots Heaven, which has a variety of games for fans of the genre. You’ll be able to play for free if you want to try it out, or put up your money for a chance to win big. More games will be added as 2016 goes on.
