On Friday last week, Nintendo of Canada invited myself and other local media to an after hours preview of Super Smash Bros Ultimate at FanExpo 2018. For three hours, media were able to play against each other in 4 player games, lasting 2 minutes and 30 seconds each. With so many stations, I was able to log almost three straight hours of Super Smash Bros, and my early impressions are really great!

Insomniac has created some really great experiences in the past, and when word spread that they would be the developer behind a new Spider-Man game exclusive to the PS4, fans were pretty excited about the prospects. Developers of the fantastic - although perhaps under appreciated Sunset Overdrive - took a lot of what made that game fantastic, and brought it over to the Marvel version of New York city. Does the same magic exist yet again, this time in exclusivity for another console? Let's dive in!

The Portal Knights team has been very active on social media ever since the game originally launched, and now that things are up and running on every platform imaginable - Steam, Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android - the team is busy pumping out content updates to support the ever growing fan base. Although these updates are not coming as fast as fans would like - and I'm sure the Portal Knights development team would like to see certification faster as well - when they do launch, it is with much fanfare and anticipation!

Rebllion is know for creating some over the top gaming mechanics - trust us, there is nothing more satisfying then a headshot in the Sniper Elite series - but has often opted to create serious missions with unique gameplay elements. Enter Strange Brigade, with lots of over the top mechanics; however, the realism of World Wars has been replaced with the craziness of treasure hunting, complete with undead, scarabs, and much more. Nintendo of America had a indie showcase video today. We have the video below and my thoughts on it. I thought todays Nindies Showcase video was ok. In the newest Lego DC Super Villains trailer, Darkseid and his home Apokolips, two Jack Kirby creations, show up to wreck (improve?) everyone’s day! Gamescom 2018 is in full swing, and Ubisoft kept up with everyone else yesterday and launched two new trailers for Assassin's Creed Odyssey, which is due out later this year on October 5th.
