Call of Duty: Ghosts Coming to Vita?
Call of Duty: Ghosts may just be coming to PlayStation Vita. Gamestop Spain have posted a listing for a Vita version of this year’s biggest arcade shooter, listing it at 45 euros.
Of course, this might be a mistake on their part – a tick box ticked where no tick should be. That isn’t always the case though, and it wouldn’t be the first time that a retailer has revealed a game ahead of its official announcement.
After Sony helped build Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified last year and it got panned by critics (and didn’t sell super well either, if memory serves), it’d be no surprise to learn that the next portable Call of Duty will be a straight port, probably with limitations on its online mode and in its single player. Ports are far less demanding, especially if the stories of full PS3 games being easily converted for Vita are to be believed. Ports on the HD collections have usually taken less than six months, so this rumour is certainly doable, and it makes sense.
Until it’s officially announced by Activision, take it with a pinch of salt. Call of Duty: Ghosts is due out across multiple platforms towards the end of the year, so if Ghosts Vita is going to be announced, expect it sooner rather than later (possibly even at Gamescom this week).
