Triforce Fetch Quest “Rebalanced” in Wind Waker HD

Wind Waker HD

Although Nintendo had previously confirmed that changes were being made to Wind Waker HD, due for release later this year, there were some people that were still a little cloudy on exact what it was they were talking about. For those of us who played it back in the day, it was pretty obvious what needed to be changed, and in today’s Nintendo Direct, they confirmed, without any room for ifs and buts, that the final part of Wind Waker has been “rebalanced” for Wind Waker HD.

For those not in the know, there comes a point at which you’re just told to go and collect a bunch of stuff in order to get through to the end of the game. The story stops, the adventure stops… go and explore. It’s a great way to see everything that’s on offer, but it’s also an incredible way to have the immersion completely smash all around you. It was one of the few areas of Wind Waker that everybody agreed was pretty terrible.

That they’ve fixed this problem for Wind Waker HD is worth the high price of entry alone.

Only one other things was said about Wind Waker HD and that was that the boat you use to travel from place to place has been sped up. I don’t remember ever being bothered by the slowness of the journey when I originally played it back on the Gamecube, but as an adult with deadlines to meet and an inbox of emails to reply to, I can’t say that this is a bad change.

Wind Waker HD will be available for the Wii U later this year.
