More Thoughts From Me: Is Avowed the Next Skyrim?
Avowed has been out for a little bit on Game Pass and I’ve been checking it out. How is the game so far? Is it the next Skyrim? Let’s talk about it!
I’ve been checking out Avowed on my Xbox Series S via Game Pass lately and here are my thoughts so far.
Avowed is a pretty good game. Its not exactly Skyrim, you can’t attack locals or go everywhere and see everything. The game is pretty open but it feels bit smaller and at times, a bit more guided than Skyrim. Still, there are so many cool things to find.
For instance, I’ve been looking around in the main town of Avowed a lot and there’s so much to see and do. You can find hidden items and treasure chests everywhere. The exploration in Avowed is neat. And you will find yourself climbing a lot more than you ever did in Skyrim. Some things are on rooftops and sides of buildings.
The weapons you get to use in Avowed are awesome. My favorite is the wand, but you can use a gun, a hammer, a sword, a bow, and more. The magic in this game rocks too. And your faithful companions help a lot in battles.
The battles are your standard action fair. You can have to be careful who you pick a fight with though because you can easily get in over your head if your characters are not leveled up enough. What is this Xenobalde?! Some of the fights are crazy.
The world doesn’t feel as lived in as Skyrim but overall, it’s a neat world to visit and there are a ton of cool things to find. I’m glad I’m getting to check this game out on Game Pass! Is it the next Skyrim though? No, its not but its pretty close and it gives Elder Scrolls adventurers something to play while they wait for the next game in that franchise.
Have you played Avowed? What do you think of it?
More Thoughts From Me is an opinion column. The thoughts expressed here are mine and mine. Now I want to go back and play Skyrim again.
