Visiting A Friend in Hello Kitty Island Adventure
I’ve been having a lot of fun playing Hello Kitty Island Adventure by myself. I’m still totally addicted! However, I really wanted to see how the multiplayer is and so one night, a friend and I visited her town and then visited mine. Here are my thoughts on Hello Kitty Island Adventure’s online multiplayer.
Last week, a friend and I visited each other in Hello Kitty Island Adventure. Here is what I thought of the experience.
Hello Kitty Island Adventure does not have voice chat or text chat at all. You can use emotes in the game but that’s all. Hopefully text chat will be added sooner or later. So my friend and I used Facebook voice chat to communicate.
We set up voice chat and then she gave me an invite code. You put the invite code in via the multiplayer option in the main menu before going into the game or by the multiplayer option in-game too. Once you’ve entered the code, it takes a short moment before you just suddenly appear on your friend’s island
As of right now, you can only play two-player online multiplayer. So it was just me and my friend. She was as close to a penguin as she could get, a bird animal. My character is a dog animal.
I found out a few things right away. In Hello Kitty multiplayer you get any tools that your friend has and the same amount of stamina that they have. If your friend is further on in the game than you are, well, you will definitely get spoilers as far as tools and stamina go.
Also if your friend, like my friend, is further in the game you can see areas that you haven’t seen before. I’m not going to spoil the tools and areas that I saw here but I will say that I saw spoilers and I didn’t mind it. You should definitely warn your friends if you can that they could be store for spoilers. My friend asked if I wanted to see the spoiler areas and I said yes.
Of course, since I wasn’t very far, when my friend came over to visit my island, she had less tools and less stamina. Its an interesting way to do the multiplayer for sure. Is it the best way? I’m not sure but at least when you go to visit a friend that’s further on, you can keep up with them in their advanced town.
As far as what you can do when you visit a friend, you can go fishing, bug hunting, collect items (ask your friend if you can), buy stuff from your friend’s stores, and there are also special friendship quests.
The friendship quests are as simple as taking a picture if your friend to collecting items and more. For a reward, you get friendship beads and can turn them in for special rewards.
Right now, these special rewards are the best reason to play the multiplayer. Hello Kitty Island Adventure needs text chatting, more stuff to do, and the ability to play with more friends. Hopefully future updates will add more multiplayer features.
