More Thoughts From Me: Being Indiana Jones
Yesterday, there was a deep dive video of the upcoming Indiana Jones and the Great Circle video game. You can check that out below along with my thoughts on it.
I’ve been looking forward to Indiana Jones and the Great Circle ever since it was first announced and we knew nothing about it expect that there was going to be an Indiana Jones game. Then we got the reveal of gameplay and my hype went off the charts. The game looked amazing.
Yesterday’s deep dive on confirmed how amazing the game looked and made me even more excited for the game, if that’s possible.
First of all, the cutscenes for this game look fantastic. Indy is his young and charming self. The voice, to me, sounds very much like Harrison Ford even though its not him. And the gameplay! Oh the gameplay.
I know a lot of people are skeptical about a first-person Indiana Jones game. The truth is that if the game was third person, it would feel like an Uncarted or a Tomb Raider game. We’ve had third person treasure hunters in video games for a long time now. By putting this game in first person mode, the player becomes Indiana Jones. You are behind his eyes, for the most part, and get to see what its like to be the archologist. From puzzle solving, to taking pictures with your camera to punching nazis and more, the player is Dr. Jones.
My favorite moment from the new deep dive is with Indiana in first person mode holding a torch in a tomb. It felt very much like an old school first person rpg. In fact, a lot of the puzzle solving reminds me of that classical rpg gameplay.
Its also awesome that there will big environments to explore and you can go your own way and find stuff off the beaten path. There was so many cool items found in the deep dive and it was neat that you pick up a lot of the items in each area and even use them to whack enemies in the back with.
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle looks like such a great game. I have Gamepass and will be able to play it day one. I can’t wait!
