Maximizing Audience Retention for Gaming Channels: The Role of Gyre’s Cyclical Streaming on YouTube

As a longtime YouTube streamer, trying to retain or grow my audience can be pretty tough. YouTube is, and probably always will be a hobby for me, but when I was able to monetize my video game channel a few years ago, it was a phenomenal feeling. As I work towards monetizing my second YouTube channel, No Shelf Space , I’m always looking for new ways to grow, and tools that might help me get there. Enter Gyre, a new system that will create 24 hour live stream  that will play on repeat for your audience, both new and old.

From time-to-time, I’ll do a deep dive into a specific game and do a ton of episodes around that title. My biggest to date was 120+ episodes of Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town, which has earned me 100,000 views. Had I been able to create a 24 hour live stream out of these videos back when they were published, and let that run for new and returning fans, I probably could have maximized my channel popularity in new and exciting ways.

But you cannot look into the past and ask, “What if?” Instead, I need to look to the future, and see how Gyre might be able to help me in the future. Let’s see what Gyre promises you with your subscription:

  • Gyre is a tool that helps you play video files 24/7 in a continuous stream to leading social media platforms.
  • Take your YouTube promotion to the next level with 24/7 streaming! Gyre simplifies the process of creating engaging and viral content to increase subscribers and promote the channel.
  • Re-using existing content not only increases video views but also grows your channel’s key metrics. Gyre streams appear higher in search results, generate more channel traffic, and increase watch time.
  • Streaming 24/7 is the quickest way to fast-track YouTube channel monetization. Streams not only breathe new life into your existing videos but also act as a catalyst, leading your audience to discover other content on your channel.

These claims were pulled from Gyre’s website directly, and while I have yet to try out the system with my own channel, it appears that all of these claims would make logical sense. Of course it would increase your monetization – you are running a 24 hour livestream with ads. If you can leverage your old content in new and exciting ways, with brand new viewers, you are not only expanding your reach, but earning money in the process. In my example, my Story of Season’s videos did extremely well, but I aired those prior to being monetized, so financially they earned me nothing.

What I like most about what Gyre promises, however, is that they will do the work. I’m a technology newb, and everything you see on my channel is from the kind viewers I have. My good friend Matt C setup my channels look with graphics, alerts, and more.

He cleaned up my streaming software, provided me with cool little tips, and made me look like a professional streamer. My other friend Total Blank set up my Discord, and made bots that would push my streams out. Now Gyre is promising to help me build my channel, and for a small nominal fee, get it out there for all to see. I can stream games and chat with fans – I cannot do the tech side of things well, so to partner with someone like Gyre could be the next step my channel needs in order to maximize on my success.

Gyre looks like an interesting platform and something I would love to try in the future. While I cannot validate the claims they make, it all seems logical to me. So that just leaves one question – would you watch a 24 hour stream of older content?
