Kevin’s Halloween Hitlist: Lurch

Immerse yourselves into the nightmarish world of Lurch where your only hope of survival lies in completing tasks and escaping the demons! Complete a series of tricky puzzles within the haunted house to unlock your escape route. Your survival depends on your ability to think quickly and work as a team, otherwise, you can’t stand a chance with the demons. Each completed task brings you one step closer to freedom, but be warned, the demon’s presence grows stronger with every passing moment. Feel the terror in a horrifying environment which is ruled by demons! Each corner of the mansion feels inhospitable where every creak, whisper, and flickering light will heighten the sense of dread as you navigate the treacherous house.

Lurch is a horror-survival game that offers a unique and atmospheric experience. As a player, you’re tasked with navigating a desolate, haunted mansion, all while being hunted by a terrifying, monstrous creature.

What I Liked:

  • Atmosphere: The game’s ambiance is top-notch. The eerie sounds, dim lighting, and unsettling environments create a truly immersive horror experience.
  • Gameplay: The gameplay is a mix of exploration, puzzle-solving, and survival. While it’s not groundbreaking, it’s well-executed and keeps you on edge.
  • Creature Design: The titular creature, Lurch, is both menacing and intriguing. Its design and behavior add a layer of dread to the gameplay.

What I Didn’t:

  • Technical Issues: I have had minor technical issues, such as frame rate drops or occasional bugs. But remember the game is in early access and things may change.
  • Repetitive Elements: The gameplay can feel a bit repetitive at times, especially as you progress through the game.

Overall: If you’re a fan of horror games with a focus on atmosphere and survival, Lurch is definitely worth checking out. While it may not be a groundbreaking masterpiece, it offers a solid and enjoyable experience. Just be prepared for some jump scares and tense moments. Again this game is early access and will hopefully enhance and change overtime.

Would I recommend it? Yes, especially if you enjoy horror games with a focus on atmosphere and survival.
