Beyond Good and Evil 20th Anniversary Editon Review
Beyond Good and Evil 20th Anniversary Edition brings back a classic Ubisoft game. Is still fun to play? Here’s our review of the game for the Nintendo Switch!
Beyond Good and Evil 20th Anniversary Edition is a remaster of a game from the Gamecube and other systems. The story mostly the same: Jade is a photographer on another planet who gets involved with a bunch of rebels who are trying to save the world. A new quest has been added that connects to the second game, which hasn’t released yet, but otherwise this is the Beyond Good and Evil that was on previous systems.
The gameplay is the same too. The Switch controls work really well and the game is just as fun as it was previously. There’s a good variety in this game: platforming, attacking, puzzles, and cruising around in your boat like vehicle. The game isn’t as open world as game’s now but its pretty good for the time that it came out. There’s a lot to do in this game! And graphically, it still looks fine though it is showing its age a little.
Beyond Good and Evil looks good on the Switch, though it does look similar to how we remember it looking. Of course it was remastered but it doesn’t look like a modern Switch game. Still all of the characters and places you visit are very well designed. The game also has voice acting that holds up well.
Overall, Beyond Good and Evil is a very good game. If you’ve never played it before, the 20th Anniversary Edition is a good place to check it out. And if you have played it before, you’ll feel like you’ve stepped back in time and you’re revisiting a classic.
Thank you to Ubisoft for providing a digital copy of this game for review. Beyond Good and Evil 20th Anniversary Edition is available on the Nintendo Switch eshop right now.
