EA Sports Gift Guide 2022

The yearly EA Sports releases are as predictable as santa coming down the chimney at Christmas to deliver gifts, but we’ve rounded up this years game with a bit of a blurb around our favourite aspects of each game! Let’s take a quick look at FIFA 23, NHL 23, and Madden 23!

FIFA 23 isn’t doing a ton different from FIFA 22, and I think that will be a constant theme this year. That being said, FIFA 23 is still an excellent title, and one I still play fairly regularly. I’m really impressed with this years Football Ultimate Team (FUT) mode, as it got a decent overhaul with more ways to earn free packs and good cards. I have been able to put together a pretty good team, but it was a bit easier than previous years. FUT will be a standout for most, although the microtransactions and randomness of the cards will still send people into fits!

Like with FIFA, not a ton has changed this year with NHL 23. New animations for goalies have made there movements in the crease more realistic, and the presentation before games, and during celebrations, is vastly improved. THe aftermath of winning the Stanley Cup is actually really cool, and we enjoyed handing the cup off between teammates during the celebration.

Hockey Ultimate Team is unfortunately a bit disappointing this year. While I felt FUT took a pretty good step forward in terms of new modes and opportunities, I actually felt like HUT took a step back, especially when it came to prizes from HUT Rush. May be it’s just me?

Madden was one EA Sports title we actually didn’t play this year, but are excited to give it a go! Let us know in the comments below what you love most about Madden 23!

Some of his favorite gaming series includes Fallout and Far Cry, he is a sucker for single player adventure games (hence his big reviews for Playstation), and can frequently be found getting down in one battle royale or another. If it's an oddball game, odds are he's all about it.
