PGA Tour 2K23 Releases More Details in First Clubhouse Report

Since new breaking of some of the latest features and release dates for PGA Tour 2K23 dropped there has been a flurry of news around it as well. Today 2K unveiled its first Clubhouse Report to go a little more in depth in the features of the latest entry in the series.

First up is the control schemes:

You will have Analog swing which as the name implies, it mirrors a traditional feel of swinging in real golf. Tempo and timing are the key to a successful swing, this is typically the traditional classic swing technique used in the series. But they are also adding in a 3-click swing, for people less (ahem) coordinated like myself. To start your shot, hold down the button to the desired power and time your release as it nears the power circle; exceeding the recommended range will result in an overpowered shot or vice versa. After you release, a green dot will start moving counterclockwise at the bottom of the circle, quickly tap the button at the top of the circle to determine your swing path. Tapping the button a second time as it reaches the bottom hash mark will determine an open or closed club face. This is likely the easier of the two to use but gives you a less golf feel overall.

They detailed a bit about courses, you are to expect 20 licensed courses at launch. Which implies there are some coming down the line as well later on. Hey, if you don’t like what’s offered there, you can try your hand at creating your own course as well with vast variety of tools to help you create the course of your dreams….or nightmares.

Lastly, they gave some details in the MyCAREER mode: nothing really surprising in how this will work, Begin your professional career in PGA TOUR 2K23’s MyCAREER mode as a member of the Korn Ferry TOUR and graduate to the unmatched competitive setting of the PGA TOUR. With each tournament, you’ll be put to the test against the best talent on the planet, competing for FedExCup points and a shot at first place in the standings. Using your MyPLAYER creation, write your legacy by hitting clutch shots and become one of the game’s legendary players. Combat the elements and your peers as you strive to etch your name on numerous trophies, culminating in a shot at the prestigious THE PLAYERS Championship.
