Ski Sniper, what comes to mind when you hear that? At first I thought well maybe it’s a dumbed down name for a game about the winter sport – biathlon. Or maybe you are a sniper on skis, that might be cool….well Ski Sniper is neither, it’s alot darker than it seems.

Yep, you read that right….this might be one of the oddest concepts for a game. These people are just performing ski jumps (they aren’t villians, they didn’t slight you in the past, murder someone you love) and you are going to snipe them. Just over and over again, there is no story, not really any progression other than gaining money so you can buy better guns/crossbows. There is no tutorial, no nothing.
SO lets look at some of the other things to analyze, the game graphically looks ok, goes for a simple art style, runs smooth, no lags or anything of that nature. Aiming works fine, although a tutorial yet again would have been nice to explain how it works, zooming, perks, etc but you don’t get any of that. You just watch people ski down and attempt to blast them away. There is the uber popular x-ray slow down effect that we’ve seen in Sniper Elite, Mortal Kombat, etc but not done with as much flair or fanfare.
All you do is pick a course, which gives you various lengths and angles to take your targets out you select and go. At $4.99 on the Nintendo switch it might be fun for some folks but ultimately I didn’t see any appeal in this title. Perhaps it’s better on PC where it was released first? I suppose with a mouse it would be easier to play, but overall I didn’t find this game entertaining or funny (the developers claim this is all done as a joke). Unless you have some money to burn or you’re a glutton for punishment, pass on this one boys and girls. Cause for me, this one missed the mark.
