More Thoughts From Me #172: My Horrible Xbox E3 2019 Predictions
I don’t want these predications to come true. I currently do not have an Xbox system. I still like Microsoft though and I want to see them do great. And I want to feel bad about not having an Xbox One or to really want that next system if its revealed. That said, I am always wrong with my predications about Microsoft related stuff. So, instead of predicating a great E3 2019 for Xbox…here is what could go wrong for Xbox’s 2019 E3!
It is June 9th, 2019. Start time for Xbox’s E3 2019 Press conference. Microsoft is starting late though. Everyone is waiting impatiently for the conference to start.
Xbox’s E3 starts with a sizzle reel showing off past Xbox games quickly.
At the end of the trailer, the audience yells and you can tell they are feeling the hype. We all think that Xbox’s E3 2019 is going to be something special.
Phil Spencer, head of Xbox, comes out. ” Can you feel it?!” he says. The audience yells yes.
Phil goes on to talk about what a great year its been for Xbox. He gives us an update on all the sales figures for the various Xbox One models. He tells us what the best games have been.
” And now Xbox is expanding its audience with deals with Nintendo and Playstation. We don’t want a console war. We want everyone, together, playing games.”
Phil talks about Minecraft on Switch and Playstation. He talks about crossplay. He hints that they will have new deals with both companies going forward “but we have nothing new to announce today. It won’t be long though.”
Then he moves on. The new Gears of War is shown off. The developers come out to talk about it. “We need a little more time and so the next Gears of War will be coming out in 2020.”
Halo Infinite is shown off next. It is revealed as a late 2019 title and only talked about briefly.
Then Phil comes out again. He reveals some new Xbox Game Pass games that are available today. He tells us that there is going to be a special sale price for Game Pass and Xbox Live soon.
A sizzle reel of upcoming Xbox Live exclusive games is shown. None of them look too good.
Some third party games, like the new Call of Duty, are shown off. The audience is pretty quiet. They are getting a sinking feeling.
Forza DLC is teased. A couple of weird motion games are shown off, along with some new VR games.
We are quickly getting toward the end of Xbox’s E3 2019 and they really haven’t shown much.
The audience is getting restless. Phil comes out again. Some yells “Show us the next Xbox!” Phil shakes his head and laughs. “Sorry, not this E3. We are still working on that. We want to focus on the Xbox One for awhile longer.” And finally some weird ninja game is shown. Thats the end of the Xbox’s E3 conference.
Everyone can’t believe how bad Microsoft did.
Where was the new Xbox? Where were the cool games? Why were most of the exclusive Xbox games delayed till 2020?
Don’t look at me like that. I don’t think this will happen. Do you?
