I love puzzle games. I think its a great genre. Its especially great when a puzzle game comes along that makes you think and challenges you. The Bridge for Nintendo Switch is such a puzzle game. The puzzles in this game are mind-bending, challenging, and sometimes frustrating. But, as always, the main question I present to you is this: is The Bridge a good game? Should you download this game right away? Let’s take a look at The Bridge and find out.

The Bridge has a story. I think it has a story. There are many words presentated but the story presented is mysterious and a bit confusing. However, with puzzle games, it doesn’t matter what the story is. The important part is the gameplay and whether or not you’ll want to play it.

The puzzles in The Bridge are mind-bending, challenging, frustrating at times, and pure genius. I won’t tell you I didn’t need help with The Bridge. I did look online to get that help (thank you Youtube). I also really love the rewinding feature in this game. Its so very handy. I do think there could be more hints in this game, especially when new features are introduced, but that didn’t stop me from enjoying this game. The Bridge is a really well designed game.

The controls in the Bridge are simple and easy to navigate. Mostly you’ll be using the left and right buttons on the top of the joycons to rotate the puzzles. The analog control for moving your character works well too. There is motion control to rotate levels also and this works pretty well. I prefer the regular controls but if you’d like to use the motion controls, its not a bad option.

The Bridge has touch controls, but these are used for rewinding time and moving your character. I think more touch controls could have been added, but I guess its neat that these controls were added at all. I like that there’s so many different ways to play The Bridge. The game also had a bit of rumble that helps you get immersed into the game even more.

The Bridge is an extremly well thought out game and definitly fits in on the Switch eshop. And it has wonderful graphics too!

The black and white graphics of The Bridge are fantastic. The game has a hand drawn quality to it. The drawn-in art style goes as far as having the main character “drawn” into each level as it starts! The backdrops of each level are really good too. I also like the illustrations that pop up when the game loads into a level.

The Bridge looks great on TV and in handheld mode. I do prefer The Bridge in handheld mode, but the game is perfectly playable in both modes. Its really nice to get a closer look at levels in handheld mode though. The Bridge is one of the best looking Nintendo Switch indie games at the moment.

The music in The Bridge is very subtle and good, though I do wish there was more variety in the tracks. The sound effects in The Bridge are pretty good. My favorite is the sound that cues when your character is being drawn into the game. The Bridge is, overall, a game that will draw you in, even if you spend some time stratching your head and looking to youtube for help.

The Bridge is a great game. From its wonderful graphics, thought provoking gameplay, and excellent controls, it’ll hook you.

Is The Bridge perfect? No, there are some things that could be better. The game absolutely should have more hints or possibly a button that shows you some steps ahead to help you out. The touch controls on The Bridge could be better too.

That said, if you want a game that’ll make you think and expand your mind a bit, then The Bridge is the game to download on the Switch eshop!
