Nintendo Releases A New Trailer for Dragon Quest 7 for 3DS
The game I’m looking forward to the most this year is Dragon Quest 7: Fragments of the Forgotten Past for the 3DS. I became a huge Dragon Quest fan with Dragon Quest 9 for DS. Since then, I’ve been trying to play any Dragon Quest game I can get my hands on. Its so great that Nintendo and Square Enix will be bringing Dragon Quest 7 to the 3DS this year. Today, Nintendo released a new video for the game. You can check it out below, along with my thoughts on the footage.
Dragon Quest 7: Fragments of the Forgotten Past will be coming to the 3DS on September 16th. Today, Nintendo released a new video about the game. They also hint toward the end of the video that we’ll be seeing more footage of the game before its release.
Here’s the new trailer:
I think we’ve seen some of the above footage before, but I did notice at least a couple of new things. First of all, the video shows off the game’s world map and reveals Dragon Quest 7’s world to be huge! I also noticed some more wandering around the world map then we’d seen previously. I like how the enemies appear on the world map, much like they did in Dragon Quest 9. There is a lot of similarity between 9 and 7 from what I’ve seen. The battle system and job system remind me of Dragon Quest 9 quite a bit. Thats a very good thing though, because I loved 9 a lot.
Of course, there are some differences between the two games too. The camera in 7 is a a lot closer to the ground then 9’s was and 7’s graphics are a little bit more anime inspired then 9. Also, Dragon Quest 7 features a time travel plot! I love time travel stories and I’m sure I’ll be addicted to this one.
