New Wii U Zelda Title Delayed
During a video posted on Facebook, Zelda producer Eiji Aonuma announced that the newest Legend of Zelda game would be delayed. Although no release date was initially given when first announced, it was hoped that the game would get released during holiday 2015.
It appears as if now we won’t be seeing the game until 2016, and even then, it is hard to know exactly when. What we do know is that Nintendo wants this to be the best game it could possibly be.. What we do know, as confirmed by Forbes, is that the new Legend of Zelda title will NOT be making an appearance at E3 2015.
I have no issue with Nintendo delaying the Legend of Zelda on Wii U, but it makes me wonder two things. First, is this title now being jointly developed for Wii U and Nintendo’s next console (NX), and is it possible when they reveal the NX at E3 2016 that we might see this title running on it already. I doubt it, but it is a possibility. It was done with The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (Gamecube and Wii). Second, I’m worried about how Nintendo plans to follow up a stellar 2014 Wii U line up, as not a lot of announced titles are hitting Wii U this year (at least in comparison to 2014).
