Six Minutes of Assassin’s Creed Unity Glitches
Assassin’s Creed Unity is out – and it’s broken. After the significant consumer confidence boost that was Black Flag, Ubi have once again dropped the ball, releasing a title with near countless issues. One YouTuber has taken it upon themselves to publish a compilation video of the biggest problems, and it runs at over six minutes.
Graphical bugs aren’t the only things people are complaining about in Unity either – framerate barely rises enough to drop for starters. That’s not to say that the developers aren’t taking steps to now finish their $60, rushed-for-Christmas release, which is better than it going completely ignored. They’ve released a live blog, from which they’ll discuss ongoing issues and fixes.
There’s already an update in the works that will fix “a few common issues,” but by and large not the things people are complaining about. The blog say that they’ve started work on some of the bigger problems, but gives no time frame for when they might be sorted.
Things being fixed include:
- Frame rate issues.
- Graphical and collision issues.
- Matchmaking co-op issues.
- Helix Credits issues.
Unity’s release has been so marred by problems and poor design choices, like locked chests only available if you take part in things from the companion app, that Ubisoft stock actually fell in value by 9%. It’d be nice to think it’s part of a learning process, but we’ve seen all these mistakes before.
