Koei Tecmo Registers Xtreme Beach Volleyball – Expect 1080p Boobs
There’s one thing everybody thinks when they see Dead or Alive or one of its beach-based spin-offs for the first time – man, this would be so much better at a higher resolution. Koei Tecmo appear to be on the edge of announcing a new Volleyball title and have registered the name Xtreme Beach Volleyball in Japan, a game that’ll probably end up on new-gen machines.
Picked up by kotetsu.game-waza, the post was found by Neogaf user Kuroshiki.
So exactly what do these games entail? Well, aside from the ability to look at beautiful women wearing not very much clothing, there’s a sports game mixed in somewhere. The franchise has seen quite a bit of controversy in the past, mostly thanks to “creepy” modes in which you can take pictures of the girls in provocative positions. This isn’t likely to change if and when the PS4 version comes out, mostly because better graphics will make the previously rather stylized lead characters more human than ever, and the closer it gets to realistic, the more uncomfortable those that dislike this idea will become.
Whatever your views on the Xtreme Beach Volleyball series, the latest will likely be announced in the coming months. Expect fervent outcry, defences including “it’s only a game,” and, most likely, quite sales. If nothing else, it’ll give us our first look at new-gen Dead or Alive, and that’s something series fans will be happy for.
