Officially dropping on PC tomorrow, Gears Tactics is a turn-based tactical shooter set in the Gears of War universe. With the rest of the games in the franchise sporting a heavy focus on fast-paced action, it will be quite interesting to see how a slower, turn-based and more cerebral approach to the Gears universe plays out. I certainly hope that the wide variety of weaponry available in the previous games will be a key part of Tactics because, let's face it, Gears' success was built on a tower of chainsawed grubs. The world (and everyone on it) is in a really weird place right now. We can't go to the movies and catch the newest movies, TV programming has pretty much either stopped anything new or is filled with bad quality webcam video of people working from their home. Kids can't go to school or play with their friends...and video games are being delayed indefinitely. So what is a troubled gamer to do? Tackle that backlog and play some indie games, and that's exactly what I am doing.

Nobody should take life (or themselves) too seriously, and nothing I have ever done has hammered this point home better than Totally Reliable Delivery Service. A parody of a physics simulator, Totally Reliable Delivery Service pits players against, well, themselves. And the laws of physics. Laws? More like - the loose guidelines of physics. While this may sound like a nightmare to some, when approached with the right attitude, this game can be the perfect way to unwind at the end of a long and stressful day (not that anyone is currently experiencing any of those!).
